Accuracy97.9%

46 correct words in 60 seconds. 46 of 47 attempted words were correct.

One result describes one passage and one setting. It is not a diagnosis or official reading level.

How the calculation works

First subtract confirmed errors from attempted words. For a 60-second sample, that correct-word count is the WCPM. For another duration, divide correct words by elapsed seconds and multiply by 60.

Accuracy uses a different denominator: correct words divided by attempted words, multiplied by 100.

WCPM questions

What if the sample is shorter than one minute?

Use the actual elapsed seconds. Very short samples can create unstable comparisons, so this calculator requires at least 20 seconds.

Is WCPM the same as reading accuracy?

No. WCPM normalizes correct words to one minute. Accuracy shows correct words as a percentage of attempted words.

Does a WCPM result show a reading level?

No. It describes performance on one passage in one setting. It is not official placement or a diagnosis.
